What is Project CARES?
Charity giveback campaign focusing on two major impacts within our communities we live and work in. Supporting Community Hunger and Community clean up.
Plaid Pantry in partnership with Sunshine Division and SOLVE is coordinating efforts to raise funds through our amazing supplier partners and our generous Plaid Pantry customers at the register. At checkout we are asking for $1 pledge to either of these local organizations. Or you can round up your change at the register to go towards these two great organizations.

Summer of Safe Riding
The Portland Bureau of Transportation (PBOT) and Plaid Pantry are teaming up to help Portlanders ride safer this summer , one neighborhood at a time. Starting Monday, June 1, PBOT and Plaid Pantry will distribute 5,000 helmets across 53 Plaid Pantry locations throughout Portland. Helmets will be available for two weeks, or while supplies last, thanks to support from Lime.
This partnership marks the kickoff of the âSummer of Safe Ridingâ campaign, bringing accessible safety gear directly to communities across the metro area.
Helmets will be available on a first-come, first-served basis to Portlanders ages 12 and older, with a limit of one helmet per person. Each helmet will also include a free Plaid Pantry sticker.

Project C.A.R.E.S raised $115,000 in the month of July
Plaid Pantry proudly continues its partnership with Sunshine Division and SOLVE to launch the fifth year of Project C.A.R.E.S., a charitable campaign focused on two vital community needs: fighting hunger and supporting environmental cleanup.
Thanks to the incredible support of our Plaid Pantry team members, vendor partners, and loyal customers, we raised $115,000 during the July 2025 campaign. This milestone marks five years of collaboration and brings our total fundraising to nearly $750,000 moving us closer to our ambitious goal of $1 million.
A heartfelt thank you to our 750+ team members, generous vendor partners, and dedicated customers. Your contributions make a meaningful impact and empower Sunshine Division and SOLVE to continue their essential work in the communities we serve.

December Charity Program raises over $75,000
We are thrilled to announce the successful completion of our December Charity Program. Thanks to the generosity of our customers, vendor partners, and the dedication of our 107 Plaid Pantry stores and over 750 associates, we have raised over $75,000 for the December 2024 Charity Campaign.

This year, Plaid Pantry proudly continued their partnership with Sunshine Division and SOLVE to launch Project C.A.R.E.S., a charity campaign dedicated to addressing two critical issues in our communitiesâhunger and environmental cleanup. With the unwavering support of our Plaid Pantry team members, vendor partners, and loyal customers, we successfully raised $149,820 during the July 2024 Project C.A.R.E.S. campaign. This marks the fourth year of our partnership, and to date, we’ve raised nearly $640,000, bringing us closer to our ambitious goal of $1 million in the coming years.
