Summer of Safe Riding
The Portland Bureau of Transportation (PBOT) and Plaid Pantry are teaming up to help Portlanders ride safer this summer , one neighborhood at a time. Starting Monday, June 1, PBOT and Plaid Pantry will distribute 5,000 helmets across 53 Plaid Pantry locations throughout Portland. Helmets will be available for two weeks, or while supplies last, thanks to support from Lime.
This partnership marks the kickoff of the “Summer of Safe Riding” campaign, bringing accessible safety gear directly to communities across the metro area.
Helmets will be available on a first-come, first-served basis to Portlanders ages 12 and older, with a limit of one helmet per person. Each helmet will also include a free Plaid Pantry sticker.
